Representatives of youth organizations throughout Europe, youth workers, and educators working on/interested in Digital Citizenship Education (DCEducation), we are excited to invite you to our upcoming DCEducation training, which will be taking place in Brussels from November 5 to 10, 2023!
In our everyday lives, we use the term Digital Citizenship to refer to the responsible and impactful use of technology and online platforms, encompassing online safety, active participation, and making a positive difference in communities and beyond. But what about Digital Citizenship Education?
The goal of DCEducation is to promote positive and responsible digital behavior, foster a culture of respect and empathy online, and help individuals become active and informed participants in the digital world. Although there are existing curricula on DCEducation in the youth sector, our goal is to develop new and innovative ones, with the aim of ensuring that youth organisations and young people have access to high-quality DCEducation online. This will help young people engage in online activities responsibly, protect their privacy and security, critically evaluate digital information, respect the rights and well-being of others, and contribute positively to digital communities.
About the training
We will bring together 15 DCEducators and representatives of youth organisations in November to delve deeper into DCEducation, while discussing challenges and creating a way forward. Together, we will explore the enabling environment for the youth sector in DCEducation, explore the use of various digital tools for empowerment, discuss effective online delivery methods, and co-develop an online self-paced course on DCEducation.
So, why wait? Don’t miss this opportunity to exchange ideas, gain skills, and contribute to the advancement of digital citizenship education. Apply now and make a positive impact on DCEducation in the youth sector!
